Below are some of the more common questions I encounter about what I do. Click on a question to see the answer. Don't see your question answered here? Contact us!
The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
As a coach, I work with people like you to develop a deeper level of self awareness and then prioritize and clarify your career transition goals through focused coaching sessions using questions and tools providing structure and accountability to partner with you to find your ideal job. I bring a positive outlook and sincere enthusiasm to partner with you to move forward in a purposeful way and live a happier life that is more aligned with your true self.
Here is what one client said about working with me:
“I like the fact you let your client decide on the actions and let them think of the solutions. You help them on the way, but you don't tell them which road they should take or what the solution should be. With this style you really make your client part of the process and owner of the solution. You are just the voice of the ' devil's advocate', or the voice of reason, sometimes you are just the soundboard to test ideas or decisions. But you are never the person who says what is right or wrong, the client decides that for him/ herself. I really enjoyed that.”
If you feel yourself holding back from going after those leadership positions. If you know where you want to go but need to work on different skills to get you to where you want to go. If you have received feedback that you need to grow in a certain area before reaching the next level. If you would like to make your voice heard within your organization but you aren’t sure about the best way to do that. All of these reasons would lead you to Leadership Coaching with Anna.
If you feel stuck in your current position at work, unsure about career may be the best fit for you, or have a lack of clarity around what you should do next, then you should consider career coaching with Anna.
Coaching is not about giving advice or teaching. It is more like a partnership where coach and client work together to find the best fit solution. The coaching philosophy believes that you as the client already hold within yourself the answers to what you need or want and through coaching tools or assessments and perspective shifting questions from the coach you can discover what you need.
This is a question that I get often. Therapists and coaches both do amazing work and have the goal to help clients through challenges to positive outcomes. Sometimes clients go to therapists and coaches during the same time frame to help in different ways. One key difference is that therapists work with the intent to heal diagnosable mental issues for clients and coaches do not. Another difference, generally speaking, is that coaches work with clients through a future oriented process around client chosen goals where as therapy tends to reflect more on past events. This is not to say that you never talk about the past in coaching and that you never look to the future in therapy. It is just not the focus.
Unsurprisingly, group coaching is similar to 1:1 coaching but it is done with several clients and one coach. The dynamics of a group provide opportunities for you as a member to support one another, increase your network, and learn from others with similar goals. Please check the services section above to see if there are any group coaching programs available in your area of interest or contact Anna to set something up for your team or organization.
